Knitting Vintage Socks by Nancy Bush is another wonderful resource for the new or experienced sock knitter. Nancy has taken vintage designs from Weldon's Practical Needlework, originally published between 1886 and 1920, and reinvented them to fit today's yarns, needles and knitters. The book begins with a history of Weldon's Needlework and goes on to discuss each aspect of the sock plus several different heels and toes. 20 patterns are presented, using a variety of techniques. The tips and techniques section has some great advice, too. The book is spiral bound to lay flat and the size fits easily into your knitting bag.
